Alaska to New Mexico

Life in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. We left Homer, Alaska on June 3rd, 2009, traveling in our van loaded down with everything we need to set up housekeeping in New Mexico. We now own a small house here and are loving life in the sun. If you scroll back far enough, you'll find a complete record of our road trip.

A few more pictures

Just transfered a couple more pictures off the camera. We found this enchanting little boit in Tombstone, and couldn't resist stopping for a photo op. There were signs advertizing "Bordello Bowling," but we did't stick around to find out what that was all about.
While at Bill and Ruthe's, we went with Bill to check out a couple of fixer-uppers he was interested in. Annie and I fell in love with this old adobe on 20 acres. It has several outbuildings, irrigation, stock pens, and the kind of funky atmosphere that felt like home.

Unfortunately, it sold (for under $30,000) the day we looked at it. There are still some great deals in the area. At some time in the future, we'll be back to look for another adobe hacienda.

This last shot was taken a few weeks ago north of T or C on the Plains of San Augustin, a huge dry lake bed in the middle of the mountains west of Socorro that is the home of the Very Large Array, the largest radio-telescope in the world.

Cute pick out in front of "Crazy Annie's"!

I'm enjoying these updates which come from your blog. Thanks for posting!

I'm glad you are both doing well, Annie and Dave, and I hope the New Year is off to a fabulous start.
